Sarah Dutrieux was born 12th December 1979 in Vlijmen, The Netherlands.
She is from a large musical family and grew up with 1 elder brother, 2
younger brothers and a younger sister. Her father plays the guitar and
her mother sings.
At the age of 6 she started playing the violin. Due to the many moves the family made, she visited several schools, where music always came first.
Under the influence of her music teachers and the school bands she
became interested in singing. Together with the family band she
performed at weddings and special events with music in the style of Pink Floyd, Yes and Queen.
Her father had a lot of influence on her musical development and he
would have liked her to continue playing the violin, but Sarah became
more interested in electronic music. This was because she started
visiting House Parties in 1992 and she saw her brothers Joshua and
Shimri DJ-ing in clubs like "The Funfactory"
(now Hemkade 48) and at several parties.She would have liked to become
a DJ, but she didn't get any feedback, because there were hardly any
woman DJs.
In 2002 she started DJ-ing with her brothers equipment. Eventually she
bought her own equipment and she is still performing now.Because she
also had a full time job, she didn't have much time to grow
professionally, but this changed rapidly when she met the love of her
live Erik Smeets. They formed a strong bond in love as well as in
business.
They both started working part time and devoted the rest of the time to
music.They produce different styles of music professionally and they
sometimes play the "wheels of steel" at home for fun.
